  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Grill or toast the baguette slices until lightly golden.
  4. Peel and halve the garlic cloves.
  5. Rub the grilled/toasted side of each baguette slice with the cut side of the garlic cloves.
  6. Slice the heirloom tomatoes into thin rounds.
  7. Place the tomato slices on top of the garlic-rubbed side of each baguette slice.
  8. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the tomato slices.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper.
  10. Garnish each bruschetta with fresh basil leaves.
  11. Let the flavors meld for 10 minutes before serving.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
