Ghost Cookies
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, cream together the vegan butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the flaxseed meal mixed with water and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Fold in the vegan chocolate chips.
-
Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand. Use a toothpick or a small knife to create ghost-like shapes on the cookies.
-
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
-
In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with a few drops of water until you achieve a thick glaze consistency. Add black gel food coloring and mix well.
-
Transfer the glaze to a piping bag or a small plastic bag with a corner snipped off. Pipe ghostly faces onto the cookies.
-
Allow the glaze to set for 30 minutes before serving.
