Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions, garlic, and ginger until golden brown.

Add tomatoes and cook until they soften.

Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

Add garbanzo beans and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes.

Mash some of the garbanzo beans to thicken the gravy.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or bread.
