Easy Braised Leeks
Leeks are a member of the same family as onions and garlic, but have a milder and sweeter flavor.
This is vegan, gluten free and low carb recipe. Dish can be prepared in 35 minutes. Even a beginner can handle preparing this dish. Number of ingredients: 8.

Trim the leeks, remove the dark green parts and slice them lengthwise.

Rinse the leeks under cold water to remove any dirt.

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the leeks and garlic cloves to the pan and sauté for 5 minutes.

Pour vegetable broth into the pan and season with salt and black pepper.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the leeks simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove the lid and cook for an additional 5 minutes to allow the liquid to evaporate.

Sprinkle lemon zest and fresh parsley over the braised leeks.

Serve hot as a side dish or as a topping for salads or sandwiches.
