Wash the collard greens thoroughly and remove the tough stems. Chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic cloves. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

Add the collard greens to the pot and sauté for a couple of minutes until they start to wilt.

Pour in the vegetable broth and season with smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for about 25-30 minutes until the collard greens are tender.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and hot sauce.
