Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook until onion becomes translucent.

Add curry powder, cumin, and turmeric. Stir well to coat the onions and spices.

Add chickpeas, coconut milk, tomato paste, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
