  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 1-2 hours, until the garlic cloves are soft and golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 2 hours.
  8. Transfer the confit of garlic to a sterilized jar and cover with olive oil.
  9. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
  10. Serve as an appetizer or use in various dishes.
