Peel and chop the chayote into small cubes.

Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.

Add the chopped tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and green chili. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

Add the chopped chayote and mix everything together.

Cover and cook for about 10 minutes until the chayote is tender.
