  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. Add diced sweet potatoes, chipotle peppers, chili powder, cumin powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the sweet potatoes with spices.
  3. Pour in vegetable broth and diced tomatoes with their juices. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender.
  4. Add black beans and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
