Soak chickpeas overnight and boil until tender.

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Saute until onions turn golden brown.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.

Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add boiled chickpeas and water. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
