  5. Add the lentils, coconut milk, tomatoes, scotch bonnet pepper, and water.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until lentils are tender.
  7. Remove the scotch bonnet pepper before serving.
  8. Serve hot with rice or bread.
