Peel and slice the carrots.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add cumin, red pepper flakes, and garlic to the skillet, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the sliced carrots to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pour vegetable broth into the skillet and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the carrots braise for 10 minutes.

Remove the lid and season with salt and black pepper.

Cook uncovered for an additional 5 minutes, or until the carrots are tender.
