In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork.

Add cooked rice, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, diced red bell pepper, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs to the bowl. Mix well.

Form the mixture into patties and place them on a plate.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

Toast the hamburger buns.

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and avocado.
