  1. In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger until fragrant. Add the red bell pepper and carrot, and cook for a few minutes.
  2. Add the curry powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper to the pot and stir well.
  3. Add the black beans, coconut milk, and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly. Use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree the soup until smooth.
  5. Return the soup to the pot and stir in the lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Heat the soup again until warmed through.
  6. Serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
