  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  3. Add the unsweetened applesauce, blueberries, and chopped walnuts to the bowl and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and maple syrup.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
