Soak the red beans overnight in water.

Drain the beans and rinse them.

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic cloves. Sauté until golden brown.

Stir in the tomato paste, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Add the soaked red beans and water to the pot.

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour or until the beans are tender.
