  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic cloves. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Add canned tomatoes and their juice, and canned chickpeas. Stir to combine.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
