In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Add the yogurt and warm water to the bowl and mix well until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside to heat up.

Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a round or oval shape.

Optional: Melt the butter or ghee and crush the garlic. Brush the naan with the garlic-infused butter.

Carefully transfer the rolled naan onto the hot baking sheet or pizza stone.

Bake for about 2-3 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.
