  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the canned baked beans, diced onion, diced bell pepper, minced garlic, liquid smoke, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  6. After 1 hour, remove the foil and continue baking for another 30 minutes, or until the beans are thickened and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the beans rest for 10 minutes before serving.
