Red lentils are not actually a type of lentil, but rather a split version of the regular brown or green lentils. They cook faster and have a softer texture, making them perfect for burgers.
This is vegan, gluten free and high protein recipe. Dish can be prepared in 50 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 17.

Rinse the red lentils and cook them according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a food processor, add the cooked lentils, onion, garlic, carrot, red bell pepper, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until well combined.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the breadcrumbs. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Form the mixture into patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Toast the hamburger buns.

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf, tomato slice, red onion slice, and a lentil patty on each bun.
