Rinse the dried beans and soak them overnight.

Drain the beans and transfer them to a slow cooker.

Add chopped onion, minced garlic cloves, vegetable broth, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and bay leaf to the slow cooker.

Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6 hours or on high heat for 4 hours.
