Mutthri is a popular street food in North India, especially in the state of Punjab. It is often enjoyed with a hot cup of tea.

  1. Soak mung beans overnight and grind them into a coarse paste.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mung bean paste, rice flour, gram flour, finely chopped green chilies, grated ginger, asafoetida, cumin seeds, salt, and water. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
