Soak the black chickpeas overnight in water.

Drain the water and rinse the chickpeas.

In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas, water, and salt. Cook for 20 minutes or until tender.

In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Add ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for a minute.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.

Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the cooked chickpeas along with the water. Mix well.

Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Sprinkle garam masala and mix well.

Garnish with fresh coriander.

Serve hot with rice or naan.
