Rinse and drain the black beans.

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until vegetables are softened.

Add cumin and chili powder. Stir for 1 minute.

Add black beans and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper.

Serve hot with a squeeze of lime juice and garnish with cilantro.
