General Tso’s Tofu Sub is a vegetarian twist on the popular General Tso’s Chicken, which is a classic Chinese-American dish. It is known for its bold flavors and spicy kick.

Press tofu to remove excess water. Cut tofu into slices.

In a shallow dish, mix cornstarch with salt and pepper. Coat tofu slices in the cornstarch mixture.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry tofu until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce into the skillet with garlic and ginger. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.

Add fried tofu back into the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.

Cut the baguette into two pieces and slice each piece horizontally. Place lettuce, cucumber slices, green onion, and the tofu mixture on the bottom half of each baguette. Cover with the top half of the baguette.

Serve the General Tsos Tofu Sub immediately.
