Ingredients
  • 3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add olive oil and water, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Shape the dough into a fougasse shape by making diagonal cuts and stretching the dough apart.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the rosemary, thyme, oregano, and garlic powder.
  9. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle the herb mixture on top.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow the fougasse to cool slightly before serving.
