Ingredients
  • 100 gram Red chili peppers
  • 4 piece Garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Caraway seeds
  • 4 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
Instructions
  1. In a dry skillet, toast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and caraway seeds until fragrant. Allow them to cool.
  2. In a food processor, combine the toasted seeds, red chili peppers, garlic cloves, olive oil, tomato paste, lemon juice, salt, and water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve the fiery Tunisian harissa as a spicy condiment or use it as a marinade for grilled or roasted dishes.
