  1. Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan and add cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add crushed ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Stir well.
  6. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix well.
  7. Add coconut milk and water. Season with salt.
  8. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover the pan. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
  9. In a separate pan, heat some oil and roast cashews, almonds, and raisins until golden.
  10. Add peas to the rice and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  11. Garnish with roasted nuts and fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot.
