  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight in water.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas.
  3. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas, water, and salt.
  4. Cook the chickpeas until soft and tender.
  5. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds.
  6. Once the cumin seeds splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  7. Add ginger, garlic, and green chili and cook for a minute.
  8. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  9. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  10. Add the cooked chickpeas along with the water.
  11. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the flavors blend together.
  12. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with rice, naan, or roti.
