Ingredients
  • 1 cup Channa Dal
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 4 clove Garlic
  • 2 piece Green Chili
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • to taste for garnish Cilantro
Instructions
  1. Wash and soak the channa dal for 1 hour.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add soaked channa dal, water, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles.
  3. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  4. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  7. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Mix well.
  8. Add cooked channa dal along with water. Mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  10. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.
