  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic cloves. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add kidney beans, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, liquid smoke, salt, black pepper, and hot sauce to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.
