  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until onion is translucent.
  3. Add broccoli florets and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Using a blender or immersion blender, blend the soup until smooth.
  6. Return the soup to the pot and stir in coconut milk, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Heat the soup over low heat until warmed through.
  8. Serve hot and garnish with additional black pepper if desired.
