Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Once the cumin seeds splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.

Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.

Add the chopped potatoes and salt. Mix well.

Add water and cover the pan. Cook until the potatoes are tender.

Once the potatoes are cooked, add garam masala powder and mix well.
