Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Add chopped onion, green chili, ginger, and garlic. Saute until the onion turns golden brown.

Add mint leaves and saute for a minute.

Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix well.

Add water and salt. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.

Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
