In a large mixing bowl, combine rice flour, gram flour, black sesame seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, butter, and salt.

Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough.

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.

Take a portion of the dough and place it in a murukku press.

Press the dough directly into the hot oil in a circular motion to form murukku shapes.

Fry until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel.
