Rinse the yellow moong dal under running water.

In a pressure cooker, add the rinsed dal, water, ginger, and garlic.

Pressure cook for 3 whistles or until the dal is cooked.

Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mash the dal.

Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt.

Mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.

Garnish with cilantro and lemon juice.
