Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 clove Garlic
  • 28 canned Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let the marinara sauce cool slightly before serving.
  5. Serve over your favorite pasta or use as a base for pizza or other Italian dishes.
