Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Basmati rice
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 piece Cinnamon stick
  • 3 piece Cloves
  • 3 piece Cardamom pods
  • 1 piece Bay leaf
Instructions
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large pot, combine the rice, coconut milk, water, salt, sugar, turmeric powder, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the rice rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
