In a food processor, pulse lentils and walnuts until crumbly.

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.

Add lentil and walnut mixture to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, vegetable broth, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
