Ingredients
  • 1 cup Textured vegetable protein
  • 2 cup Vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, rehydrate the textured vegetable protein with vegetable broth.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rehydrated textured vegetable protein, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
  4. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or your favorite vegan main dish.
