Ingredients
  • 1 cup Gram Flour
  • 1/4 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Omam (Ajwain) Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • - for frying Oil
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, omam seeds, asafoetida, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water and mix to form a smooth dough.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Fill the dough into a sev maker or a piping bag with a small round nozzle.
  5. Press the dough through the sev maker or piping bag directly into the hot oil.
  6. Fry until the omapodi turns golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel.
  8. Allow it to cool and store in an airtight container.
  9. Serve omapodi as a snack or as a topping for chaats and enjoy!
