Ingredients
  • 2 plantains Green plantains
  • 4 teaspoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry the plantain slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  4. Remove the fried plantains from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  5. Using a tostonera or the bottom of a glass, flatten each plantain slice.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in the frying pan again.
  7. Fry the flattened plantain slices for another 2-3 minutes on each side, or until crispy.
  8. Remove the tostones from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and serve hot.
