Ingredients
  • 2 cup Lentils
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic cloves
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 4 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh cilantro
Instructions
  1. Rinse the lentils under cold water and drain.
  2. In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onions and garlic cloves and sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Add tomatoes, red chili powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add lentils and water to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes until lentils are tender.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
