Ingredients
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 4 whole Cardamom Pods
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 tablespoon Raisins
  • 2 tablespoon Cashews
  • 2 tablespoon Almonds
  • 1 pinch Saffron
Instructions
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil and add the rinsed rice. Cook for 10 minutes or until the rice is 70% cooked.
  3. Drain the rice and set aside.
  4. In the same saucepan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add cardamom pods and cinnamon stick, and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add the drained rice to the saucepan and mix well with the spices.
  6. Add sugar and saffron, and mix until well combined.
  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  8. In a separate small pan, heat ghee and fry cashews, almonds, and raisins until golden brown.
  9. Once the rice is cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with the fried cashews, almonds, and raisins.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
