In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Place the butternut squash halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Brush the soy glaze mixture over the squash. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the squash is tender and caramelized. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
