Ingredients
  • 1 cup Yellow Lentils
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
  1. Rinse the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked lentils, water, chopped onion, tomato, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  4. Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles.
  5. Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and give the dal a good stir.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and lemon juice.
  7. Serve hot with rice or roti.
