Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 clove Garlic
  • 28 ounce Canned Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan.
  4. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  7. Use a blender or immersion blender to puree the sauce until smooth.
  8. Serve the marinara sauce over pasta or use it as a base for other Italian dishes.
