Ingredients
  • 1 cup Red Lentils
  • 4 cup Water
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Instructions
  1. Rinse the red lentils under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, add the lentils and water. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the oil and add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until golden brown.
  4. Add the chopped tomato and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the ground turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Stir well.
  6. Transfer the cooked lentils to the pan and mix everything together.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  10. Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
