Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 1 stalk Celery
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 can Canned Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Red Wine
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 4 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese
  • 8 leaves Fresh Basil
Instructions
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in the tomato paste.
  3. Pour in the canned tomatoes and red wine. Season with oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve the ragu over cooked pasta, garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
