Ingredients
  • 1 cup Lentils
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
  1. Rinse the lentils and rice separately.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
  3. Add cumin, salt, and black pepper to the pot and stir for a minute.
  4. Add the lentils and rice to the pot and stir well.
  5. Pour in enough water to cover the lentils and rice by about an inch.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 40 minutes or until the lentils and rice are cooked and tender.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  8. Fluff the lentils and rice with a fork before serving.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
